"From the mysterious edge of his growling lower register to his emotionally wrought, crystalline upper register, singer/songwriter/guitarist Brian Lucey leads Nude through a passionate whirlwind of pain, loves lost and found, and post-modern self-discovery."
- B. Lindamood, Columbus Alive

Hailing from Columbus Ohio, where diverse new music is alive and well, Nude is a rock band for rock music lovers.

"Nude's live shows are the band's bread and butter, showcasing a tremendous ability to span drama and atmosphere with an added dash of emotional power ... Lucey also is one of the only musicians who can create an onstage vibe different from every other local and most national bands: It's a kind of like, shut up and listen people. You can go back to your shots of Jagermeister and Buttery Nipples when we're done. And strangely enough, it works. " Ryan Horns, Columbus Alive

With two independently released full length CD's (Breathe '96...Heart '98) and numerous CD demos-for-sale sold all over the country, Nude's commitment to new rock continues to impress both venue owners and critics who've 'heard it all before'. Portland's Cobalt Lounge ranks Nude, "definitely in the top five unknown national acts we've ever seen." And every club on the recent West Coast Tour invited Nude back for a weekend show. Cd's were sold to 1 in 3 first-time listeners in cities like LosAngeles, Portland, Seattle and Taos N.M.

FILMS

- 'Pray For Compassion' from 'Breathe' ('96) was used in the movie and soundtrack of an NYU filmmaker's first feature-length, Snakes & Arrows ('96).
- Nude was hired in '98 to record ten improvised segments of Pulp Fiction-esque, swampy-surf for a Columbus filmmaker's second full-length, My New Advisor ('99).
- Another Columbus filmmaker, who later acted in Steven Soderbergh's Traffic, used 'Free' from Nude's '98 self-release 'Heart' in his 16mm short film ('99).
