Brian Lucey

Ardent, atmospheric lyricist and soulful guitarist Brian Lucey divines the Nude sound. He started strumming and singing at age 11 influenced by everything from songs like Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress, and lyrics like in Garden Party, to bands like AC/DC, The Blues Brothers, Yes, BB King and the Rolling Stones. After gigging weekends at the Kenyon College bars and playing some fretless bass in a modal jazz-improv group he moved to NYC, playing covers ranging from Bob Dylan to Talking Heads, 6 night a week in the East Village as lead guitarist/singer for Open Kitchen. He later gigged with a blues band in the UK and after a short run back home with Columbus' first big jam band, Strangely Enough, he'd had enough of emulating styles and stopped performing at age 21. Seven years of Guitar Craft seminars ensued and in '94 he founded Nude as an original rock band with a healing vibe. His unique vocal and guitar skills offer an audience a spiritual mode of individualism and his past musical experiences with styles ranging from Hippie/Jam to Classic Rock to the highly structured Guitar Craft repertoire, brings a fire for spontaneity and group originality to Nude. CD's nearby include: EmmyLou Harris, TOOL, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd.

Matt Michalski

With a punk rock approach to composition, Matt Michalski's ambient guitar licks do for Nude what bell-bottoms did for the seventies. Born in Pittsfield, MA, his father toured as a baseball player and Matt learned early on the tools for handling sudden change and chaos. A Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do , he's also a self proclaimed tone freak who regularly experiments with sound. His primary influences are: Bill Frisell, Jeff Beck and U2. Matt's made some time lately to study classical guitar and he buys rice by teaching guitar to kids. Recently married to a gifted choreographer of Modern Dance, he does photography and technical setup for her. On stage with nude he wears a kung-fu smile and his heart on both sleeves.

Sean Bowers

Born in Kokomo, Indiana, a town he says "has several old songs written about it," Sean Bowers plays bass. He came of age playing music and his major influences are: XTC, Miles Davis and Scritti Politti. An accomplished luthier, he knows music inside and out. Sean builds and repairs a range of stringed instruments and plays a bass of his own creation, fondly known as 'Monster Bass'. Riding the wave of a checkered past (would you too like to throw a knife at Monster Bass?) Sean's now on high ground with the Nude groove. Bringing a depth of positive intent and swagger to performance, his playing allows the audience in to feel that vibe.

Doug Carraway

Banging on things right from the get go, Doug Carraway is a Cleveland born Drummer. As a high-school MetalHead and Jazz Band geek he taught younger kids to drum, and by college had gone 180 into World Music and Chinese Language (which is musical in it's wacky own way). His current fave drummer is Matt Chamberlain and lately he's been listening to everything from Sevendust and Mudvayne, to Paul Simon and XTC, to Ayub Ogada and Bebel Gilberto. With a day gig in Multi-media Direction and Production, Doug's become the band Videographer, Webmaster and Grand Historian, though with achy head, he fully intends to be replaced in those capacities.
